Emergency Response
War Against COVID-19

In the Covid-19 pandemic, we have witnessed families getting affected, especially daily wage earners who sleep without food in our country. During normal days, they survive on the daily wages as they work as sanitation worker, rag pickers, domestic help and some of them beg for their living. And pandemic had taken their livelihood.

Since we were aware of the situation of daily wage labourers, we knew it will be difficult for them to survive in the pandemic. Therefore, we thought of supporting them and from 26th March 2020 we have started distributing dry ration kits to their families.

For ration distribution, our team of more than 50 people, visited different slums to survey for the neediest families and after identifying, they distributed tokens to these families by visiting their slum (Jhugis) so that no crowd would gather to collect rations and social distancing could follow. For those families who are Covid affected, our team visit their jhugi themselves to provide ration at their doorstep.

With the support of our volunteers we were able to distribute dry ration kits to 12,000 families in 28 slums of Delhi and we are still supporting these families with the support of our individual donors and partners.
